what i wore wednesday

i'm feeling like if i'm gonna do this whole "blogging" thing, i need to start participating in the WHAT I WORE WEDNESDAYS. plus, it's one more reason to actually get myself ready for the day. once a week anyway. :) so here's my first one. :)

dinosaur eggs

how totally cool are these??
SO FUN for hard boiled eggs and EASTER!
(which is fast approaching and i'm no where NEAR ready for it!)

we had to try it...

hard boil some eggs and cool.
fill some cups with water
add food coloring

i like the variety and vibrancy you can get from Wilton

crackle those eggs!
tap lightly on the counter to get it started
then gently press all over, as much or as little as you like

drop em in the colored water!
put all the cups in the fridge overnight to let the food coloring do it's thing
(and keep your eggs from going yucky)
we put ours on a small tray for better stability/possible water spillage

in the morning, remove the eggs from the cups
rinse with water
(or risk colored fingers!)

pretty!

take the shells off and see what's hidden underneath!

how fun, huh?? :)
my girls loved getting involved and helping out
the anticipation of waiting overnight to see how they turned out was fun for them too

a different take on coloring easter eggs!
and a good excuse to have deviled eggs or egg salad sandwiches!

hey friends!!

for the next 2 days i'll be over here on GROOPDEALZ with a few different color options on my checkbook covers!


i'm so nervous/anxious/excited about it! it's a little bit weird for me to be putting my name (and myself essentially) out there for people to either like or not like. which may or may not completely crush the small bit of self confidence that i'm hoarding. :)


but really, that's beside the point because i'm just so darn happy to be doing all of this and making new friends and having something to do with myself that is outside the role of being MOM and WIFEY.


i've also been working really hard on getting some new things in the shop! and somehow, even though i was sewing almost the ENTIRE day on saturday, i didn't get as much done as i would have liked. HOWEVER, i still have a list of things to do so they'll get there eventually!

do you ever feel like your "to do" list NEVER gets any shorter??
my list consistently has 6-7 things on it.
seems like once i check off one or two things, something else always comes up.
why is that?

it's annoying right now.
i just want to get caught up!

bah.

so fingers crossed that i'll get in so really good sewing time in the next 2 days!!
if hubs has to work, i'm callin my momma to come to my aid with the kiddos!
(he better not be working tho!)
